Welcome to Aidcen (the “Website”), a Membership-as-a-Service (MaaS) platform operating at https://aidcen.com, owned and operated by Aidcen (“we,” “us,” or “our”).
By registering for a membership, purchasing a paid newsletter subscription, ordering email or sitewide advertising services, making a voluntary donation, or participating in our community features, you agree to be legally bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree to these terms, you must not create an account or use our platform and services.
1. Eligibility and Account Registration
- Age Requirement: You must be at least 18 years old to register for an account or purchase services.
- Account Accuracy: You must provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration.
- Third-Party Authentication: If you register or log in using Continue with Google, you authorize us to access and use basic profile information from your Google account to maintain your identity securely.
- Credentials Security: You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You must notify us immediately at support@aidcen.com of any unauthorized access to your account.
2. Scope of Services, Delivery, and Access Restrictions
- Membership-as-a-Service (MaaS): Your paid or active membership grants you a limited, non-transferable license to access specific digital tools, educational resources, or perks outlined in your selected subscription plan.
- Membership Tiers and Feature Restrictions: Access to the platform’s features, tools, groups, and content is strictly tier-dependent. Different membership levels grant different depths of access to digital tools, resources, newsletters, and specific community forums as detailed on our pricing page. We reserve the absolute right to restrict access to premium or advanced features for lower-tier or free membership accounts.
- Upgrades and Downgrades: You can upgrade or downgrade your membership tier at any time through your dashboard. Changes in tier levels will modify your platform access permissions instantly, and billing adjustments will be processed automatically through PayPal.
- Circumvention Prohibited: Any attempt to bypass, trick, or hack platform tier access restrictions to view content or use features outside your assigned membership level is strictly prohibited and constitutes a violation of these terms and the Ugandan Computer Misuse Act.
- Paid Newsletters: Subscribing to premium newsletters grants you access to exclusive email-delivered content. This content is for your personal, non-commercial use only. You can opt out or unsubscribe from these newsletters at any time using the “Unsubscribe” link located at the bottom of every email, or directly through your member dashboard configuration.
- Email & Sitewide Advertising Services: Businesses or individuals purchasing email advertising space, newsletter sponsor slots, or sitewide ad placements (including banner ads, sidebar displays, or popup graphics) agree to submit creative materials that comply with our ad standards. We reserve the right to reject, modify, or cancel any advertisement that violates Ugandan law, contains misleading claims, or harms our community environment.
- Service Modifications: We reserve the right to update, modify, or discontinue specific service features, interface layouts, or deliverables at any time to improve the platform experience.
3. Subscription Fees, PayPal Payments, and Donations
- Currency: All membership fees, premium newsletter fees, advertising balances, and voluntary contributions are processed via PayPal in USD. You are entirely responsible for any international transaction or currency conversion fees applied by PayPal or your local issuing bank.
- PayPal Terms: All payments are securely processed through our third-party payment gateway, PayPal. By purchasing a membership, you agree to comply with PayPal’s User Agreement and Privacy Policy.
- Automatic Renewal: Ongoing membership and premium newsletter plans are billed on a recurring basis. Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled through your account dashboard or your personal PayPal billing settings before the next recurring payment date.
- Voluntary Sustainability Donations: The platform allows users to add a voluntary donation at checkout to help sustain the provision of free services on Aidcen. By submitting a donation, you acknowledge and agree that:
- No Commercial Return: Donations are entirely voluntary and do not entitle you to additional premium membership features, elevated community status, or advertising perks beyond what is specified in your chosen plan.
- Non-Refundable: To the maximum extent permitted by law, all checkout donations are final and 100% non-refundable, including in cases where your primary membership account is later suspended or terminated for violating our Code of Conduct.
- Tax Status: Aidcen operates as a standard private business/platform. Therefore, donations made to Aidcen are support contributions to a commercial platform and are not tax-deductible under Ugandan tax laws.
- Payment Failures: If PayPal is unable to process your recurring fee due to an expired card, insufficient funds, or account limitations, your access to membership services, paid newsletter distribution, and community privileges will be suspended immediately.
4. Cancellation and Refund Policy
- Cancellation: You may cancel a membership or premium newsletter subscription at any time via your account dashboard or directly within your PayPal account settings. Cancellation stops future automated renewals but leaves your current access active until the end of your prepaid billing period.
- Advertising Purchases: Fees for email and sitewide advertising campaigns are non-refundable once the campaign asset has been processed, approved, scheduled, or broadcast on the platform.
- Refund Policy: To the maximum extent permitted by law, all fees and donations paid via PayPal for our services are non-refundable. No prorated refunds are issued for partially used subscription periods. Opening a PayPal dispute or chargeback without contacting us first may result in immediate and permanent account termination.
5. User-Generated Content and AI Community Moderation
Our platform hosts active interactive forums, comment forms, chat groups, and community boards. By posting content, you agree to the following rules:
- User Responsibility: You retain ownership of the text, images, or materials you post (“User Content”). However, you are entirely responsible for the legality, safety, and accuracy of your content.
- Media Upload Rule: If you upload images to the website or include media in your email or sitewide advertising assets, you must avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included, as other visitors can download and extract this data.
- Community Standards: You agree to strictly abide by our Community Code of Conduct, which prohibits defamation, obscenity, pornography, hate speech, financial scams, spam, and any behavior that violates the Ugandan Computer Misuse Act.
- Automated & AI Moderation: To maintain a safe environment, we use automated systems and Artificial Intelligence (AI) moderation tools to screen, flag, and filter User Content and submitted advertising materials in real-time. This AI technology may automatically hide, delete, or restrict posts that appear to violate our rules.
- Three-Strike Policy: Minor violations flagged by our AI systems will result in an automated warning. Accumulating three strikes will lead to a permanent block from the community space. Severe violations (such as fraud, explicit threats, or severe hate speech) will result in an immediate, permanent ban without refund or prior warning.
- Human Review & Appeals: AI moderation is not perfect. If your content or advertisement is mistakenly flagged or removed by our AI systems, you have the right to request a human review by contacting us at support@aidcen.com. We reserve final authority on all content decisions.
6. Intellectual Property Rights
- Platform Proprietary Rights: All software, newsletter editions, sitewide content, structural design, videos, training materials, and brand trademarks on the Website are the exclusive property of Aidcen.
- Usage Restrictions: Your membership grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to utilize the service. You may not copy, resell, republish, or distribute our proprietary materials or premium newsletter contents outside the platform.
7. Data Protection and Privacy Integration
- Privacy Policy Incorporation: Your privacy is highly important to us. Our collection, storage, use, and protection of your personal data are governed strictly by our separate Privacy Policy, which is fully incorporated into these Terms and Conditions by reference.
- Regulatory Compliance: We process all personal information, user logs, comment data, subscriber email lists, donation logs, and advertising metrics in strict compliance with the Ugandan Data Protection and Privacy Act, 2019.
- Financial Data Security: Because your membership fees and donations are handled exclusively through PayPal, we do not collect, view, or store your credit card details or financial banking credentials. All payment data is collected and secured directly by PayPal under their own privacy standards.
8. Account Suspension and Termination
- Breach of Terms: We reserve the right to suspend or permanently terminate your membership account immediately if you breach these terms, violate our Code of Conduct, or engage in behavior harmful to other community members.
- Forfeiture: If your account is terminated due to a violation of the community guidelines or terms of service, you will forfeit any remaining subscription time without entitlement to a refund or compensation.
9. Disclaimers
- As-Is Basis: Services are provided on an “as-is” and “as-available” basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted, secure, or error-free access to the community, newsletters, or advertising systems.
- No Guarantees: Aidcen does not guarantee specific individual earnings, business outcomes, or open/click/impression performance metrics resulting from platform participation, email newsletters, or sitewide advertising campaigns.
